The waterfalls of Nemouta, reminiscent of a scene taken from a fairy tale with fairies and elves, deserve to further develop into a magnet for lovers of hiking, mountaineering and natural beauty. They are situated 40km+ from Pyrgos, and close to the homonymous village that spreads out at an altitude of 560m.
This untouched and impressive landscape is a creation by the river Erymanthos’ flow, rushing from the mountains to confluence with the river Alfeios as a tributary.
The unique water spectacle is formed by numerous waterfalls surrounded by lush vegetation, with the waters driven mostly by steep slopes and pouring majestically from a height of 15m to 35m. In fact, most of them end up in the ravines of Aboulas and Haratsari. Only three of them, the so-called Gate of Paradise, Soufala and Ai-Yiannis are easily accessible.
