Description

Above Dibri, in the middle of a dense, fairy-tale forest, full of fir trees, it is built the Upper Monastery of Dibri - Chrysopigi Monastery.

Around the monastery, the scenery is breathtaking. The springs, the running waters and the rich vegetation compose a natural palette, full of colors. Around the monastery there are three chapels, while inside it, there is the very beautiful chapel of Saint Kirikos and Saint Ioulitsa.

In the monastery with its magnificent surroundings, the most important heroes of the revolution of 1821 could took refuge. In its library,there are rare manuscripts and unique editions of books.

The monastery is dedicated to the Life-Giving Spring, but celebrates the Nativity of the Virgin on September 8th.
