Description
The Archaeological Museum of Pyrgos, housed in the emblematic and highly impressive architectural jewel of Ernst Ziller, is not only a treasure of knowledge and culture for the prefecture’s capital, but also one of the most important neoclassical buildings preserved to this day in the broader region.
Many important exhibits from various excavations that have taken place in the land of Elis, are housed in its halls.
Findings from Vouprasia to Trifylia tell us the story of Elis, having as a reference point the everyday life of the people that lived here, their habits, customs, religion, ideas, but also their general way of life.
