The port of Patras, one of the most contemporary ports in the Mediterranean, offers upgraded port infrastructure, quality hospitality services and excellent hygiene and safety conditions.

Since the opening of the South°(New) Port in 2011, the part of the North Port from the pier of Astiggos°to the gate No 7 is intended to accommodate cruise ships.
In particular, the northern side of the port offers piers and quays with a total length of approximately 3,000 m. and a depth of 10 m. from the lowest low water, 373 m long. (quay no. 14-15), 220 m long (quay no. 16) and 179 m long. (quay No 13). There is also the possibility of water supply for ships.
The port operates a cruise terminal with passenger waiting areas, customs service as well as a Duty-Free shop, a restaurant, a café and an ATM.
For the convenience of cruise passengers, there are tourist bus and taxi parking spaces at the reception station, and two PPA buses offer free transportation to passengers from the reception station to the pier of Agios Nikolaos at the city center.
During the reception of cruise ships, PPA welcomes passengers with events, during which local traditional products are offered, such as Greek delights, tentura, Mavrodafni, wine, ouzo, etc.
The port has a sophisticated fire safety system with a specialized fire station, which operates on a 24-hour basis within the port and has two (2) fireboats. Forklifts and cranes are also available.
The PPA also offers a pollution response service with a specialized boat and equipment, a service for the handling of liquid and solid waste 24 hours a day, as well as a water supply service for ships.
Banks and a post office can be found at a distance of 10 minutes from the Passenger docking station of the North Port.Two hospitals, the General University Hospital of Patras and the "Agios Andreas” Hospital can be found within 20 minutes from the port.
Port safety is ensured by the revised ALE (Coast Guard, the Security company of the Patras Port Authority S.A. and the K.A.E) and the distance from Araxos airport, which receives international flights, is 30 km.
