Description

A protected paradise, thanks to its ecological value and beauty, the Fraxos Forest is located north of the Acheloos delta and belongs to the Messolonghi-Aitoliko National Park. The forest mainly includes impressive hedgerows that reach 25 meters and a diameter of up to 3. Following a 3.5 kilometer long path, wander among silver-white, silvery sedges choked with creepers, cyclamen, wild freesia and various types of shrubs. The Fraxou Forest, unique of its kind in Greece, was declared a Protected Natural Monument in 1985.
