On Neraidorahi, one of the highest peaks of the Helmos range, the surrounding mountains conceal any trace of city lights. Unadulterated darkness… ideal for that tireless observer of the universe, Aristarhos. Here you will find the second biggest telescope in mainland Europe through which you can take a fantastic trip to the stars. Α lot of the hard-core action in the area revolves around Kalavrita ski centre, which is beautiful, white (this is vitally important!) and well equipped for all manner of winter pleasures, including, of course, skiing and snowboarding. When you come down from the slopes, glowing and contentedly fatigued, delicious traditional cuisine awaits you in the taverns of the town. And since Kalavrita is famous for its dairy products, you should jump at the chance to stock up on the delicious local feta cheese.
The ski center of Kalavrita has 12 slopes, with a total length of 20 km and all degrees of difficulty, and 7 lifts with a capacity of 5,000 people per hour. It also has the highest lift in all of Greece, Styga and the largest track, Nefeli, which starts from a height of 2,340m. at Neraidorachi and extends to a length of 3,200m. Worth mentioning is the “Irini” slope, which has a slope Certificate for international races.
