Description
Evinos is a river of Etoloakarnania prefecture . It owes its name to the king of Aetolia Evinos, who drowned in its waters while chasing Ida, who had kidnapped his daughter, the princess Marpissa . It is also known by the name of Fidaris because of the branches it forms during its route in the mountains of Etoloakarnania. The most ancient name of the river is Lykormas.
Evinos is ideal for sports activities such as canoe-kayaking and rafting . In the area of the Bania Bridge , modern facilities have been created, the most complete in Greece after the corresponding Olympic facilities in Athens. Visitors to the Evinos area are also involved in hiking, climbing, mountain biking and horse riding.
